Rothwells provided Structural Engineering services for both owner and incoming tenant of this 19th Century listed building.

The “Cat A” works for the building owner, Rosel Holdings Ltd., encompassed the comprehensive refurbishment of the existing building and required the design and detailing of repairs in keeping with the original structure whilst ensuring listed elements were retained wherever possible.

The “Cat B” works for the incoming Tenant, Jersey Potteries Ltd., required adaptation of the existing building to operate as a successful commercial property. Drawing on investigative works undertaken in conjunction with the main contractor, Camerons Ltd., we developed an understanding of the performance of the existing building, enabling us to design a sympathetic replacement structure.

Operating on a tight timescale, the main contractor undertook both Cat A & Cat B works in tandem, thus effective communication and an integrated design approach were key in the successful delivery of this highly prestigious project.
